
How to Find Oxford University
It should be easy, right? It’s huge, it’s famous and it’s a premier Oxford attraction.
But if you arrive in Oxford looking for the famous university, you’ll be sadly disappointed. Of course, it exists, but if you ask, ‘Where is Oxford University?’ the answer will be: ‘It’s everywhere!’
The university is comprised of 38 separate colleges together with academic and administrative buildings spread all over Oxford. And, most of the colleges and their grounds are open to the public. You’ll be spoilt for choice because they all have their unique history, traditions and attractions – from grand dining halls and impressive quadrangles, to shaded arches and stone bridges, towering spires, centuries-old gatehouses and rotundas, and ornate chapels.
