Tourist numbers to Slovenia are climbing year on year and the country is launching extensive advertising campaigns.

From fairy tale alpine scenery with its castles, churches and clocktowers to pristine lakes and rivers, there are plenty of reasons why Slovenia is nudging Croatia as the go-to destination in central Europe. Add to that reasonable prices, a friendly welcome, the prevalence of English speakers and a national cuisine that is attracting world attention and you have no excuse not to go.
